We sit at the top of Highway 321, 1.6 miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway on-ramp. No motorcycle license, no riding experience, no roof between you and Grandfather Mountain.
Forty-five, end to end. The Parkway holds 45 mph for all 469 miles. Nobody minds. That is the whole reason this road is worth a whole afternoon.
You select this when you book, not when you show up. The Parkway runs at 45 mph with a lot of second and third gear in it, so think about how much shifting you want on your vacation.

Book this only if you drive stick now, not if you learned on one in 2006. Grinding and clutch damage comes out of your hold.
Helmets and commercial insurance are in every price. The only other thing on your card is a refundable $750 hold. Pick one and it carries through to checkout.
Three or more Slingshots at the same time takes 10% off the whole group, so call us instead of booking separately. Any half or full day can add an overnight for $149. The $750 hold is a pre-authorization released at return.
Printed directions come with your confirmation. Cell service drops on long stretches of the Parkway, so download your map before you leave the lot.
The engineering piece that curls around Grandfather Mountain instead of blasting through it. Go early, the light and the parking are both better.
High open meadow, long sightlines, and the thinnest traffic of the three. On a weekday morning you may not pass a car for twenty minutes.

No. North Carolina does not require a motorcycle endorsement for a Slingshot. A regular driver's license is enough. Helmets are required by law and we hand them to you at check-in.
A pre-authorization taken at check-in, the same way a hotel handles incidentals. Credit cards see a temporary reduction in available limit. Debit cards actually move the funds and take two to four business days to return after drop-off. That number is also your ceiling on damage liability, because Polaris commercial coverage takes it from there.
Yes. Both drivers come to check-in with valid licenses and sign their own waiver, and both are covered for the whole rental.
There is no roof and mountain weather changes fast. Call or text us and we will move your slot at no charge based on what is open.
Thirty minutes. Waiver, helmet fitting, and a walkthrough of the vehicle. Your rental clock starts when you leave the lot, not when you arrive.
There are lockable compartments behind the seats sized for two small backpacks. Anything larger stays with us at the lot.
Slots fill first on fall weekends. If you want leaf season, book it now rather than in October.
